Participants will learn basic techniques for fishing from both a beach and a fishing pier including knot tying, casting, fish handling, and proper catch-and-release techniques. In addition to fishing skills, participants will learn to be ethical anglers and discover how to reduce their impact on marine life including sea turtles and shore birds! Fish caught during this program will always be released. All fishing equipment and bait is provided, please see below for recommended items to bring. PLEASE NOTE: this program does NOT meet at the Juno Beach Pier! This program meets at the BACK GATE of Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Time: Every Saturday from 9:45am-12pm
Space is limited!
Check-in for this program begins at 9:45am at the back gate of Loggerhead Marinelife Center. This program does NOT meet at the Juno Beach Pier! Parents are required to remain with their children to transport them to the Juno Beach Pier after the classroom session. The program will conclude at 12:00pm at the Juno Beach Pier.
Participants should wear and/or bring the following:
• sunscreen
• weather appropriate clothing
• closed toe shoes
• hat and sunglasses (optional)
• snack
• reusable water bottle
Face coverings are required to be worn by ALL guests attending and/or participating in this program.
The program is rain or shine, and will not be cancelled due to inclement weather. In the event of unsafe weather conditions, the classroom session will continue but fishing portion of the program on the pier will not occur.
